Moorestown-CCLast week in girl’s high school lacrosse was highlighted by a Virginia power making a trip to Long Island for two huge interstate matchups.

St. Stephen’s/St. Agnes (VA) headed North for two big games against traditional Long Island powers. First on Friday, the Saints took down Manhasset (NY) by a 16-14 score.

Then on Saturday, they traveled to South Huntington to face St. Anthony’s (NY). The game was a close one, won by the Friars 9-8. The win moved St. Anthony’s to 9-1, who after an early-season loss to Vero Beach (FL) have won seven consecutive games. Meanwhile, the Saints suffered their first loss of the season and fell to 19-1.


Also on Long Island, Garden City (NY) remained undefeated at 9-0 while Farmingdale (NY) won two games to move to 8-1.

In Connecticut, Darien (CT) took down New Canaan (CT) and Loomis Chaffee (CT) to move to 8-1 on the season. It was the first loss of the season for New Canaan, who rebounded Saturday by defeating Longmeadow (MA) to move to 9-1.

Other big scores include McDonogh (MD) remaining undefeated by taking down the Severn School (MD) on Thursday, 16-9. Moorestown (NJ) continued their dominance, defeating Ridgewood (NJ) 15-8 on Saturday to move to 12-0 on the year. West Genesee (NY)also remained undefeated, winning twice last week to push their 2013 record to 10-0.
