Featured Five: Super Sophs Girls Showcase
For many high school lacrosse players, competing collegiately at a Division I program is seen as the end goal of countless summer tournaments, showcases and in-season games. For many parents, the ability to tell others that their daughter (or son) plays at a Division I school is a source of great pride; the fruit of the money, time and effort put into getting their child onto this/i> club team or into that showcase. Now, before continuing, let’s state the obvious: This train of thought certainly is not true of every player or parent out there. Many aspire to attend and play at an academically prestigious DIII institution, or follow a family legacy to a very competitive DII program. Others, still, look forward to competing in the MCLA at a school that offers their desired major or has that “bigger-school” feel. Having said that, the instances of wanting that DI notoriety – especially for those new to the lacrosse recruiting process – are everywhere. And while not necessarily a bad thing, too often they fall beyond the realm of reality or self-awareness. Consider these numbers for DI Women’s Lacrosse. ...

Featured Five: Super Sophs Boys Showcase
The 2013 Super Sophs Boys Showcase took place on Saturday, July 27 at Greenwich High School in Greenwich, Connecticut. The one-day event featured over 200 members of the 2015 Class, broken up into 12 teams. Participants hailed from 21 States, 159 high schools, and represented over 120 club teams. After registration, the day began with an informative recruiting seminar run by SportsRecruits.com. The informational session, which was open to players and parents, provided an overview of the recruiting timeline and featured a Q & A to aid players and their families. There were plenty of coaches on hand at Greenwich High School, including Amherst, Army, Bryant, Bucknell, Fairfield, Hofstra, Loyola, Navy, Stony Brook and Wesleyan among many others. Here are five players that stood out and some others who made an impression. ...

The 2013 Fab Frosh Showcase took place on Friday, July 26 at Greenwich High School in Greenwich, Connecticut. The one-day event featured over 200 members of the 2016 Class, broken up into 12 teams. Participants hailed from 25 States, 148 high schools, and represented over 100 club teams. After registration, the day began with an informative recruiting seminar run by SportsRecruits.com. An Interview With: Northstar Invitational Directors Ashley Gersuk, Kevin Leveille and George Leveille
We were fortunate to catch up with Ashley Gersuk, Kevin Leveille and George Leveille, Directors of the Northstar Invitational. The event which is held for 150 athletes selected across graduation years 2015, 2016, 2017 is one of the premier stops on the girls summer circuit. The Directors have quite an impressive background. Ashley Gersuk was a member of Northwestern Universitys inaugural recruiting class in 2001-2005. While a member of the Wildcats, she was a 4-Year Captain, the 2004 ALC Goalie of the Year, an All-American, and a 2005 NCAA National Champion. Kevin Leveille is a graduate of UMass-Amherst, where he was a 3-time All-American selection. Kevin is currently a member of the Rochester Rattlers of the MLL. He has played in the league since 2003, and is a 5-time All-Star, a 2008 All-League selection and a member of the MLL 10-Year Anniversary Team. George Leveille brings both knowledge and experience as a player, coach, lacrosse parent and administrator since the early 1970s. The Northstar Invitational will be held July 28-31, 2013 at the Northwood School in Lake Placid, New York.
