This high school season, we will be bringing you a feature each Monday where we provide some notable news and from the weekend in lacrosse action.


Last week, the girl’s high school season really got going, as teams in the Northeast began playing their schedules, joining their counterparts farther south.

It was a solid week for St. Stephen’s/St. Agnes (VA), who took down four teams in California – St. Ignatius Prep, Amador Valley, Carondelet, and the Menlo School – by a combined score of 68-17. The Saints enter this week 6-0 on the season.

Georgetown Visitation (D.C.) also had a strong week. The Tigers capped a 3-0 stretch by defeating Vero Beach (FL) in a tight game, 19-18, on Saturday, March 30.

On the flip side, it was a tough week for Notre Dame Prep (MD), who fell entered the week 2-1 before dropping four consecutive games – including losses to Bryn Mawr (MD) and Manhasset (NY).

Garden City (NY) 12, St. Paul’s (MD) 4

West Genesee (NY) 14, Skaneateles (NY) 5

Friday:

Ward Melville (NY) 13, Yorktown (NY) 9

Saturday:
Georgetown Visitation (D.C.) 19, Vero Beach (FL) 18

West Islip (NY) 13, Rocky Point (NY) 10
