The Week Ahead: Boys High School Lacrosse
Last week, the boys high school season featured some great matchups, highlighted by West-Coast power St. Ignatius (CA) making a trip East for two games. The Wildcats went 1-1 losing to Chaminade (NY) Thursday before defeating Seton Hall Prep (NJ) Saturday in what was a big statement for the growth of the game out West. Other big results included Ward Melville (NY) continuing their strong season with a convincing 11-2 win over West Islip (NY) yesterday. It was the Patriots first win over the Lions since 2009. Also last week, Boys Latin (MD) took down Calvert Hall (MD) to remain undefeated. Delbarton (NJ) also remained unbeaten, while Chaminade (NY) suffered their first loss at the hands of Yorktown (NY). At the Katie Samson Lacrosse Festival, Episcopal Academy (PA) took down Lawrenceville (NJ) while La Salle (PA) topped the Haverford School (PA). This week features another set of good games. ...

The Week Ahead: Girls High School Lacrosse
Last week girls high school action was highlighted by a trip North for St. Stephens/St. Agnes (VA), who defeated Manhasset (NY) on Friday before falling to St. Anthonys (NY) on Saturday. Meanwhile, McDonogh (MD) and Garden City (NY) both remained undefeated, as did Moorestown (NJ). West Genesee (NY) also remained undefeated, winning twice last week to push their 2013 record to 10-0. This week features some great matchups with powerhouse teams. ...

Great Games, Great Cause Highlight 13th Annual Katie Samson Lacrosse Festival
It was a picturesque day at Radnor High School on Saturday, April 27 for the 13th annual Katie Samson Lacrosse Festival. Katie Samson who played lacrosse at Middlebury College in Vermont was injured and became a quadriplegic in a sledding accident in the winter of 2000. Since then, Katie has been an inspiration to so many, creating the Katie Samson Foundation and working tirelessly in support of spinal chord injury research. To date, her foundation has raised over $1,000,000 thanks to events like the lacrosse festival, which is a great day of games and family activities. On Saturday, there were 26 boy's teams and 28 girls teams competing on seven fields in an all-day lacrosse marathon. ...
