The Conversation

What are you most excited about with regards to your program?

We are building a new state-of-the-art indoor lacrosse facility. We will have our offices, film room, lockerroom, weight room, training room, academic center, and dining hall all within the new facility. We will play all of our games in this facility.

What jumps out at you when recruiting? What do you look for in a player?

At Marquette, we look for hustle players. We want athletes who are willing to put in the extra work to do what is best for the team. We are also looking for great individuals who are respectful, kind, and hardworking.

What are your “pet peeves” when recruiting?

Bad body language. As coaches, we pay attention to how athletes respond when things don’t go as expected. We don’t expect athletes to be perfect but we do expect them to work hard and focus in on the next play.

What is the best way interested student-athletes should get in touch with you?

Student-athletes should send me an email (caitlin.fifield@marquette.edu) introducing themselves and letting me know where they will be this summer/fall.
What should student-athletes avoid in their messaging to college coaches?

Student-athletes should try to make messages personal. Give a coach a reason to remember you. And make sure to write the correct school and coach’s name!

Once again, thanks to Caitlin for her time, and best of luck to Marquette the rest of the season!
