The Conversation

What are you most excited about with regards to your program?

I am most excited about our program’s opportunity to compete in the most difficult Division III conference [NESCAC], while providing a well rounded college experience to our student-athletes.

What jumps out at you when recruiting? What do you look for in a player?

In recruiting, I am looking for guys who are highly skilled first. But, they must also play with a tremendous amount of energy and effort.

What are your “pet peeves” when recruiting?

When players show negative body language and frustration, such as slamming sticks, complaining to refs, and having poor interactions with teammates.

What is the best way interested student-athletes should get in touch with you?

Interested student-athletes should send personalized emails or make phone calls to be in touch. They should show that they have done their research in our college and our program.

What should student-athletes avoid in their messaging to college coaches?

Copying and pasting the same email from coach to coach, especially forgetting to change the name of the coach or college.

Once again, thanks to Matt for his time, and best of luck to Colby the rest of the season!
