CHICAGO, IL — The Northstar Invitational and SportsRecruits.com have agreed to an enhanced partnership in advance of this summers Invitational, it was announced today.
SportsRecruits.com, US Lacrosses Service Provider for Recruiting, will again be on-site in Lake Placid to provide comprehensive recruiting tools and film coverage. In 2013, they will play an expanded role by providing extensive news and media coverage of the invitation-only camp.
SportsRecruits News will provide coverage leading up to Northstar, to include a review of selected athletes, coach and director interviews, and players to watch. On-site coverage will include video interviews, daily recaps, and athlete profiles.
In March, SportsRecruits.com announced the launch of http://sportsrecruits.com/news/, a website focused on coverage of the recruiting process, high school, and college lacrosse. To run the media platform, SportsRecruits.com hired Spike Malangone, the 2009 DIII Defensive Player of the Year (Wesleyan University), who had spent the previous four years working for the National Football League in their Communications and Media Relations group. Malangones experience with the NFL included on-site work at the Super Bowl, NFL Draft, and NFL Scouting Combine.
It is our goal to add to the coverage of lacrosse in a legitimate fashion, said Malangone. The game is growing so rapidly, especially at the youth and high school levels. With this growth comes an appetite for more coverage, and it is a privilege to be able to add to that with this outlet.
The Northstar Invitational is an exclusive invitation-only girls lacrosse showcase, which hand-selects and invites 150 of the very best high school athletes from around the United States and Canada, to compete with and against each other, in front of many of the nations top college coaches. Northstar has been uniquely formatted to maximize exposure and provide an unprecedented first-class experience for its athletes at the Northwood School in Lake Placid, NY. SportsRecruits.com allows a player to create an online profile which includes his or her contact information, lacrosse data, transcripts, test scores and other pertinent material. Members can upload game footage to their profile, or use SportsRecruits.coms team of editors to build a highlight reel. Once completed, members can then directly contact coaches with their personalized URL using SportsRecruits.coms built-in messaging system. Every NCAA coach is a registered member of the site.
