pic2Last week girl’s high school action was highlighted by some big matchups, including two big interstate battles. Manhasset (NY) traveled to New Jersey and took down Summit (NJ), 11-8. Meanwhile, New Canaan (CT) traveled to Long Island and defeated Farmingdale (NY) by an 8-7 count.

It was a big week for Mendham (NJ), who took down Chatham (NJ) on Thursday before defeating Ridgewood (NJ) on Saturday and West Morris (NJ) Monday to push their record to 7-3. Meanwhile, McDonogh (MD), St. Stephen’s/St. Agnes (VA) and Moorestown (NJ) all remained undefeated.

This week features some great matchups with powerhouse teams.


GAME OF THE WEEK
St. Stephen’s/St. Agnes (VA) at St. Anthony’s (NY) – Saturday, 4/27
St. Stephen’s/St. Agnes enters the week with an unblemished 17-0 record, but will be tested in a big way. St. Anthony’s enters the week at 7-1, their lone loss coming to Vero Beach (FL) earlier this season. Should be an excellent contest in South Huntington Saturday.

TEAM TO WATCH
St. Stephen’s/St. Agnes (VA)
In addition to the excellent game against St. Anthony’s on Saturday, the Saints first face off against another Long Island power on Friday as they take on Manhasset (NY). Manhasset enters the week at 7-1, with their only loss coming to undefeated Garden City (NY). Two huge games should tell us more about all three teams this week.

STAT OF THE WEEK
An interesting note on Moorestown (NJ)
Moorestown is currently 10-0 in 2013, on the heels of a 26-0 season in 2012. The Quakers have been nothing short of dominant this season. To illustrate this fact, consider this: In their 10 wins this season, they have outscored their opponents by an eye-opening 176-19 tally. Said another way: that is an average final score of 17.6 to 1.9.

Moorestown has two games remaining this week against Washington Township (NJ) and Ridgewood (NJ).
