Garden City (NY) scored the final two goals of the second overtime session to earn a gripping 12-11 win over host Darien (CT) in girl’s high school action Saturday. Trailing 10-4 early in the second half, Garden City mounted a huge comeback to tie the game at 10 and send it to overtime, where they got the game-winner with just under eight seconds remaining. After a dominating victory over Conestoga (PA) last Friday – an 18-3 decision for Boys' Latin (MD) that moved them to 9-0 – head coach Bob Shriver was kind enough to join us. Coach Shriver hit on a variety of topics, including his team’s play against excellent out-of-conference competition, their preparation for the MIAA slate and the mindset of his senior class as they look toward playoff time. The Lakers won their first MIAA game yesterday over McDonogh (MD), 15-10 to move to 10-0 on the season. In girl's high school action Saturday, No. 6 Moorestown (NJ) defeated Colorado power Cherry Creek (CO) 15-4 at Moorestown High School in New Jersey. The win moved Moorestown to 4-0 on the season. Cherry Creek fell to 4-1. Check out the video on the right for some great highlights of the action.

The Week Ahead: Boy’s High School Lacrosse

Last week, the boy’s high school season featured some great games, highlighted by a few statement wins by visiting teams. On Friday, Boys’ Latin (MD) took down Conestoga (PA), 18-3. On Saturday, Delbarton (NJ) defeated St. Anthony’s (NY), 7-3. This week features another great slate of action, and is highlighted by conference rivals facing off. ...

The Week Ahead: Girl’s High School Lacrosse

Last week, there were some fantastic interstate girl’s high school matchups, one of which featured a notable upset. Down in Florida, Vero Beach (FL) took down St. Anthony’s (NY) by a surprising 13-12 score. Vero Beach moved to 12-4 on the season, while St. Anthony’s dropped to 2-1. In another big interstate matchup, Cherry Creek (CO) – winners of two of the past three Colorado State Titles – traveled to perennial power Moorestown (NJ) – winners of 13 consecutive New Jersey State Titles. The game was close early before Moorestown pulled away for the 15-4 win. This week features some great matchups and an excellent showdown in Washington, D.C. ...
