Baltimore Summer Kickoff (Session Two): 2014 All-Star Game

The second session of the Baltimore Summer Kickoff took place Friday, June 21 through Sunday, June 23. On Saturday night, two All-Star games were played, comprised with some of the best players from the day’s action. Plenty of coaches were on hand to take in the action, which was stock-piled with impressive talent. The first All-Star game played was for members of the Class of 2014. An Interview With: Duke Midfielder Brendan Fowler

This week, we were fortunate to catch up with Duke midfielder and faceoff specialist Brendan Fowler (right; photo credit Duke Athletics). Fowler, who was named the NCAA Tournament’s Most Valuable Player after his dominant performances in the postseason, helped lead the Blue Devils to their second National Championship in 2013. His extraordinary efforts culminated in a 20-for-28 output from the faceoff dot against Syracuse in the Championship Game on Memorial Day. During the season, he set NCAA faceoff records in both wins (339) and draws taken (526). Featured Five: Nike Blue Chip Rising Sophomores

The rising sophomore sessions of Jake Reed’s Nike Blue Chip Lacrosse Camp took place from Tuesday evening, June 25 through Thursday morning, June 27 on the campus of UMBC in Catonsville, Maryland. In total, there were four sessions of games played on two adjacent fields – one Tuesday evening, three Monday (although poor weather altered times for the afternoon and evening timeslots) and one final round on Thursday morning. Upward of 270 members of the Class of 2016 participated in games in front of some 100 coaches, including many of the top programs from the DI ranks. Relive the Season: Chapter 12 – Deerfield (MA) at Salisbury (CT)

This spring, the LR News team traveled to 15 games across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic Regions, making stops from Conestoga (PA) up to Salisbury (CT) and many in between. Chapter 12 took us to the Salisbury School (CT) on Wednesday, May 15 for a big prep school matchup between the Crimson Knights and visiting rival Deerfield (MA). Deerfield built an 8-2 second-half lead and held off a big surge from Salisbury to take the 12-10 win. The contest showcased quite a bit of talent that will surely make an impact at the next level. Jake Reed’s Nike Blue Chip Rising Juniors: Monday Recap

252 rising juniors took the field last night and again today at Jake Reed’s Nike Blue Chip Lacrosse Camp held at UMBC. There were a plethora of coaches on hand to take in the action today. Over 80 coaches – including 60 representing Division I institutions – were in attendance. It was a hot, humid day in Baltimore, and players battled the heat as much as each other. However, after an evening shower playing conditions were much more favorable for the night session under the lights. We will post our Featured Five after tomorrow morning's rising junior portion concludes, but here a few players that stood out during the three sessions today. ...
