The Fall recruiting circuit has expanded in recent years. What was once a quieter time now consists of multiple events, a heavy concentration of which occur in November. As more players focus on lacrosse throughout the year, these events have become increasingly important in the recruiting cycle.
For most coaches, Fall is a great time to get follow up evaluations of players they may have had limited opportunity to see play over the Summer. For freshmen, the Fall is the first time that top to middle tier DI coaches are going to get a chance to start adding players to their recruiting lists.
For sophomores and juniors, DI coaches are getting a closer look to see if you are a player they are going to invite onto campus for a visit or offer a spot in their recruiting class. On the DIII level, the Fall is when coaches are adding prospects to their recruiting lists and trying to predict the trajectory of a player: Are they a true DI prospect? Do I have a chance of getting him?
For seniors, the Fall is your last shot to be seen by a coach at a school that you are interested in attending. Most early decision admissions deadlines will have past by the end of November, but you still have a chance to garner interest from coaches.

The top 40 players from each class as judged by an all-star evaluation committee will compete in the afternoon Fab-Forty all-star games.
Sunday will feature an invite-only team showcase featuring outstanding club and high school teams.
Our Take
The event has been successful in the past, and usually draws a solid crop of college coaches. What was once a more regional showcase has blossomed, thanks in large part to its proximity not just to Pennsylvania but also to Delaware, New Jersey, and New York as well. The event now pulls top talent from New Jersey and Long Island routinely.

Our Take
Players are invited to this event based of performance at other tournaments, camps, and their in-season play. Athletes can also be recommended by their high school coach on the events website, which is not necessary but encouraged.
The event draws DI programs from all over the country. Due to its proximity to Baltimore, there is a strong representation of ACC and other top DI programs from the area. The event has a good mix of DIII coaches in attendance as well, again with a more regional pull.
While the Diamond Showcase falls on a busy weekend, the location is the key ingredient to having coaches attend.
