Trailing by two entering the fourth quarter, Avon used a four-goal run to turn a 7-5 deficit into a 9-7 advantage in a contest played Saturday, March 30. New Canaan would not go quietly, however, getting to within one at 9-8 with time winding down. But on the final possession, New Canaan was not able to get the equalizer as Avons defense preserved the one-goal victory.
