Here are just some of the many notable performances on the men’s side for games played the weekend of March 15-17, 2013.


2012 Men (HS Graduation Year)
Conor Gately – Marquette – Fr. – Attack
Gately tallied a goal and a ground ball as the Golden Eagles fell to St. Joseph’s, 12-7. For the season, Gately leads team with 17 points (5G, 12A). His 2.40 assists-per-game average rank 11th nationally.

Brock Ghelfi – Bucknell – Fr. – Midfield
Ghelfi had two goals and one ground ball in Bucknell’s 13-6 Patriot League victory over Lafayette. The surging Bison have won five consecutive games heading into Tuesday’s showdown against Cornell. On the season, Ghlefi has started all seven of Bucknell’s contests, recording eight points (8G) and five ground balls.

Peter Kraus – Michigan – Fr. – Attack
Kraus notched a goal in Michigan’s 10-7 setback against Colgate in the Metropolitan Lacrosse Classic played at Citi Field, home of the New York Mets. On the season, Kraus has started in seven of the Wolverines’ eight games, recording eight points (7G, 1A) while adding six ground balls.

Gordie Koerber – Denver – Fr. – Attack
Koerber tied a career high with four points on three goals and one assist as Denver dropped a heartbreaker to Notre Dame, falling 13-12 in overtime. The game, played at Sports Authority Field at Mile High, was part of Inside Lacrosse’s Mile High Classic. On the season, Koerber has recorded 14 points (13G, 1A) and added four ground balls for the Pioneers.

Case Matheis – Duke – Fr. – Attack
Matheis had a career-high three goals and also recorded two assists as Duke knocked off Towson on Saturday, 12-4. On Monday, he again notched three goals and added three assists as Duke defeated Marist, 19-11. On the season, Matheis is now tied for second on the team with 19 points (11G, 8A) while adding 12 ground balls for the Blue Devils.

2011 Men (HS Graduation Year)
Robbie Chiocco – LIU Post – So. – Defense
Chiocco recorded four ground balls and caused three turnovers as Post defeated Roberts Wesleyan, 7-5. On the season, he has 15 ground balls and has caused eight turnovers.

Tim Jacob – Brown – So. – Attack
Jacob recorded one goal as the Bears won their fourth consecutive game, beating Harvard 11-9. He now has five points on the season (5G) to go along with two ground balls.

Michael Quinn – Yale – Fr. – Defense/LSM
Quinn recorded one ground ball in the Bulldogs’ 12-10 setback against Cornell. He has started all five of Yale’s games this season, scoring a goal while registering nine ground balls and two caused turnovers.

Ryan Rielly – Hofstra – So. – LSM
Rielly scooped up two groundballs and caused a turnover in Hofstra’s 10-5 victory over Deleware. For the season, Rielly has appeared in each of the Pride’s five games, registering one point (1G), 19 ground balls and seven caused turnovers.

Chris Schoenhut – Tufts – So. – Attack
Schoenhut had three goals and one assist for four points in Tufts’ 18-14 win over Stevens. He also recorded two ground balls as the Jumbos recorded their first win of the season. They play a huge game with Stevenson tonight.
