Welcome to SportsRecruits.com/news!
Our goal is to provide players, coaches, parents and fans with original, informative and captivating coverage of the game.
By way of introduction, my name is Spike Malangone, and I am the News Director at SportsRecruits.com. I am a graduate of Wesleyan University, and played lacrosse for the Cardinals from 2006-2009. Prior to that, I attended St. Anthonys High School on Long Island and am currently based in New York City.
Upon graduation from Wesleyan, I immediately went to work for the National Football League in their Communications and Media Relations group. While there, I was a contributor to the football information press releases sent weekly during the season, and worked on-site at large events like the Super Bowl and NFL Draft, among others. I enjoyed my time there tremendously, and it was an invaluable experience learning from the absolute best in the field of public relations.
When I was offered the job at SportsRecruits.com, I was immediately drawn to the potential to contribute and give back to the game of lacrosse. While it was a very difficult decision to leave the NFL, the opportunity to cover lacrosse with such a great company was one I could not pass up.
We are very excited about this venture, and hope to provide insightful and engaging content without some of the more common elements and themes that have become woven into the culture of the game. We are hoping to adhere to the motto “Coverage Without the Commonplace.”
