One of the most rewarding aspects of the US Lacrosse National Convention is having the ability to meet members of the lacrosse community from different regions.
One such occurrence was having the fortune of speaking with AJ Auld, the Founder and CEO of Titanium Lacrosse. In addition, Auld is the head coach at Ohio powerhouse Dublin Jerome High School.
Based in Lewis Center, Ohio, Titanium Lacrosse is one of the premier lacrosse clubs in the country. Titnium features 20 club teams across the Midwest and had sent over 70 players to the Division I ranks since 2010.

On his experience at the 2013 U.S. Lacrosse National Convention:
It has been great. There have been a lot of good speakers; some great live-field demos. The vendors have been great. So it has been a really great experience all around.
On Titanium Lacrosse:
Titanium Lacrosse offers clinics, camps, select teams, recruiting education college prep you name it really specializing in offseason play. We operate in the Midwest. Right now, we have teams, clinics, and offerings in Ohio, Indiana, Illinois and Michigan. We service over 600 players with our club teams and close to four-five thousand with all of the other events that we do.
On what steps players should take to get themselves seen by college coaches:
Working with guys in a non-traditional area, I have found that really casting a wide net is important. Communicating with a lot of different college coaches, attending different events — you cannot just be passive in the recruiting process. Unlike some of the traditional areas, where players get seen during their high school season, if you do not come from the East Coast, you are most likely not going to be seen by a lot of college coaches during the spring. So it is important during the offseason in the summer, fall and even into the winter to get your name out there, communicate with college coaches and participate in some of the better events. I think that goes a long way in helping with the recruiting process.
